The total subscriptions in broadband services via mobile communications networks in the Kingdom reached 35.2 million subscriptions by the end of the first half of 2015, continuing the rise, including subscriptions to data services (data) and subscriptions to voice communications bouquets. The Communications and Information Technology Commission explained in its electronic bulletin that Saudi Press Agency 'SPA' got a copy, that the prevalence of broadband services via mobile communications networks at the level of the population has reached 113.2%, noting that the increasing prevalence of mobile smart phones and their applications has led to a rise in the number of users dramatically in recent years, as well as the increase in data movement across these devices supported by a wide coverage of the third and fourth generation networks in various regions of the Kingdom. The Commission revealed that the number of subscriptions to broadband services via fixed telecommunications networks, which include digital subscriber lines (DSL) fixed and wireless connections, in addition to fiber-optic lines and other wired devices amounted to about three million subscriptions by the end of the first half of 2015, a rate estimated at 53.5% of housing. -- SPA
