Published in Alriyadh on 08 - 12 - 2014

The Security Spokesman of Interior Ministry stated that in light of the repeated attempts to undermine the homeland's security and stability by malevolent groups which have foreign loyalties, the security authorities have managed to follow-up suspicious groups divided by their intellectual affiliation and united by terrorism and stood behind them those haters who have been disappointed in their hopes to harm the homeland, its security and stability, noting that the security and field follow-up has resulted in the arrest of (135) one hundred and thirty-five accused persons as follows:
First, all those arrested were Saudi citizens except twenty-six people from foreign nationalities including (16) Syrians, (3) Yemenis, (1) Egyptian, (1) Lebanese, (1) Afghan, (1) Ethiopian, (1) Bahraini, (1) Iraqi, and (1) cardholder.
Second: Forty detainees were arrested in different parts of the Kingdom for their involvement in going to conflict areas, joining extremist organizations, training on weapons and terrorist acts, and returning home to carry out acts to destabilize security.
Third: Fifty-four detainees were arrested in different parts of the Kingdom where it has been proven to the competent authorities their association with extremist organizations and their roles varied in various forms of support to those organizations including funding, recruitment, Ifta (religious edict), dissemination of misguided propaganda, provocative clips, harboring the wanted and manufacturing explosives and others.
Fourth: Seventeen detainees for their connection with riots, mob gatherings and shooting at security forces in the town of Awwamiyya, possession and smuggling of arms, planning to carry out acts to destabilize security, and their association with external loyalties.
Fifth: three detainees were arrested in Qatif Governorate who have sought to recruit elements in order to send them abroad, train and equip them, and then return to carry out terrorist operations inside the Kingdom.
Sixth: Twenty-one detainees were involved in an attempt to enter and go out from the Kingdom in an irregular manner and carry out the smuggling of weapons.
The Ministry of Interior calls on all citizens and residents to remain vigilant and cautious of what is plotted by enemies to destabilize security and rouse sedition and promptly inform the security authorities about everything that raises suspicion, emphasizing that the security authorities will be firm in confronting these persons and others, and arresting and bringing them to religious judgment, and the rulings of Sharia ensures to deter anyone who tempts to tamper with the security of the homeland, its citizens and residents.
